I've had an amazing day at Biggin Hill for the flypast marking the 75th anniversary of the 'Hardest Day' of the Battle of Britain. A total of 18 Spitfires and 6 Hurricanes took part, as well as 41 veterans. I had a media pass for the event - the only amateur photographer to have been given such access, and I've spent the day amongst all the professional guys 8-) 8-) and taken over 900 photos... But above all, it's been an incredible privilege to meet some amazing veterans and hear about their experiences. This is Squadron Leader Tony Pickering - a Battle of Britain pilot who flew on 18 August 1940.

A remarkable experience for you, Rose, and a great shot of someone who was in the front line of one of the most important battles this country has ever fought.
