POTD 25 March 2016 - Unburdened

Following Tom's heads up about the "Walk of Witness" being held by local churches to celebrate Good Friday, I decided to pop along to see what was happening. To my surprise, there were two separate parades each with their own actor playing the part of Jesus. This was taken after one of the participants had set down his cross following his stint. Shooting events such as this can be tricky as there is a lot happening which cannot be controlled. Earlier on, just as I had lined up a shot as when the actor playing Jesus was walking with his cross, someone reached out to grab it just as I pressed the shutter. Often going behind the scenes can be more rewarding, as happend on this occasion. I would have liked a bit more separation between the boy's face and the man he is standing next to, but his oversized hi-vis jacket partly makes up for that.

I think the "guards" in the hi-viz were simply members of the organising church. It was all very friendly.
