Day 28 and I was not planning to do a flower image, but changed my mind when I saw the way that this anemone had opened.

I have got a bit behind with posting my images, but will be catching up over the next day or so.

Nice detail in there, do you have the exif details? They seem to be stripped from the pic here & on your 365project site.

That's because I do not believe that such information about camera settings is especially useful, the more so as it does not mean much without knowing what other aspects were such as the lighting conditions and focussing distance. Consequently I strip it from the EXIF data when exporting from Lightroom. For the record, the settings were:

  • Canon 7D
  • Canon EF 100 macro
  • 15 secs
  • f/20
  • ISO 100
  • Tripod

The 365Project website also strips metadata from the image, specifically the copyright information which I do leave in. I am not sure why it does this, but it is a considerable annoyance.

Hmm, 365project leaves the exif data in for my images, maybe it's a setting on your profile? I haven't seen/heard of one though.

Personally I find it quite annoying to see images I like with the exif removed and don't understand why people take the effort to strip it - it's hard to learn from others when the most pertinent details for the shot are hidden! I don't think focusing distance is crucial - knowing the lens used and focal length gives you enough to go on - and lighting conditions can be determined from the shutter speed/aperture/ISO. It's particularly useful for beginners like me when this info is there.
