Here are a few more from the day, all processed from Raw files in Lightroom 4 with no additional editing in Photoshop.

I like the macro image of the eye on the wing, at the time when I said eye I meant the actual butterfly eye, hence I was surprised when you showed me your image on your camera.
I was surprised at how well my telephoto shots worked, I expected camera shake and poor resolution but most seem OK, I haven't tried to sharpen any yet so noise may become apparent then.

Getting the butterfly's eye would be beyond macro and well into micro territory such would be the magnification required! The shot of the "eye" on the wing was my other contender for image of the day, but in the end I decided that I wanted a depiction of an entire insect.

Likewise. In the morning I was shooting my 100 mm macro lens with a diffused flash. In the afternoon, I used my telephoto zoom at its long end, which made up for its relatively long closest focussing distance. As you will have seen, that was the combination I used for my PAD photo. I was also adjusting the ISO according to the ambient light, ranging between 320 - 3200 ISO.
