Day 139 and after a delayed start, these buds are starting to appear on the oak tree in the garden and will eventually become acorns. For those who are wondering why the leaves do not have the usual shape, I am reliably informed that this is not the usual variety of English oak but a species which we have yet to identify. Any assistance from keen botanists appreciated!
This was quite a challenging shot to get due to subject movement caused by the wind. Ideally I would have liked a bit more depth of field, so at some point it might be worthwhile investing in some clamps to help keep foliage still.
