PAD 314 - Remembrance

Day 314 and I went to Carshalton War Memorial to see the newly laid wreaths. Last year, the bronze plaques commemorating the names of the fallen were stolen from the memorial. The people responsible cannot have any idea of how fortunate they are to live in this country and the sacrifices that have been necessary to maintain the freedoms we enjoy today. The plaques were replaced with ones made of stone in time for last year's Remembrance service, with the not insignifcant cost met by a scrap metal dealer.
