Day 315 and the bunch of flowers from which this rose was taken had been in the house for a few days. The weather was uninspiring, so I decided to take this shot while the bloom was still fresh.
All processing was done in Lightroom, which included use of the spot removal tool in clone mode to tidy up a minor imperfection on one small part of the petals.

I do find it interesting how you approach this kind of subject & the settings you use vs. how I would tackle it
Maybe we should pick the same, specific subject and see how we each interpret and shoot it.

What kind of subject did you have in mind? Nothing involving such things as sticky tape, whipped cream and head borne lit candles I trust.

Re: PAD 315 - Orange Rose
One of my mags (Practical Photography or Digital SLR Photography, cannot remember which) runs a competition each month where 3 of their staff are given an object to photograph and each person can interpret it how they wish. It can often inspire the creative juices and might be interesting to have a fun competition at the club based on this? Maybe the submissions could be all done via the forums to get more members to register and contribute?
