If it doesn't, I can suggest an alternative event here in the south west that you've probably never heard of ! The Somerset Carnivals are the largest illuminated procession in the world and take place every November. They visit Bridgwater, Burnham-on-Sea, Glastonbury, North Petherton, Shepton Mallet, Wells, and Weston-Super-Mare. This year the processions run from 5 - 19 November.

Keith is probably on holiday. I have sent him a text message which hopefully point him to the forum.

Hi everyone,
Apologies for the delay in getting back to everyone with more details. I am gathering availability and prices from hotels this weekend and will have options to share with you in the next day or two.

Re: Jurassic Coast Trip...
Hi everyone,
The trip will be from Friday 28th October to Monday 31st October. Obviously, if we find that a majority of those interested can't make that weekend, I will look at it again, unfortunately it won't be possible to accommodate everyone's needs.
For accommodation the best options I've found are as follows:
OPTION 1 - FULL BED AND BREAKFAST
Wessex Royale Hotel, Dorchester. Centrally located with restaurants nearby.
Single room £197 Double room £227 (room rate for all 3 nights)
http://www.wessexroyalehotel.co.uk/
OPTION 2 - ROOM ONLY (NO BREAKFAST)
Premier Inn Weymouth. Out of town location with supermarkets and a Beefeater restaurant nearby.
Double room: Prepaid £102 (room rate for all 3 nights). Flexible booking to amend or cancel: £147.
http://www.premierinn.com/gb/en/hotels/england/dorset/weymouth/weymouth.html
**Still awaiting final confirmation of the number of rooms available at Premier Inn. In the unlikely event that we can't all be accommodated, there is another Premier Inn in Weymouth nearby (Weymouth Seafront) with prices of £132.50 for prepay booking and £182 flexible booking.**
Please confirm whether you are able to make the dates, and if so, indicate your hotel preference and number of persons/rooms required. If there is a consensus on the prepay option at the Premier Inn, I will need the money upfront - or will ask people to make their own bookings.
I will make an announcement at the club meeting this Wednesday also and will be around to answer any questions face to face.
Many thanks
Keith

Re: Jurassic Coast Trip...
Hi Keith
Thanks for organising this.
Lindsay and I are good for that weekend. The Wessex Royale would be our preference, as the Premier Inn in Radipole is a bit out on a limb without much going on in the immediate area. It's a slightly more expensive, but not greatly so when the cost of the Premier Inn's breakfast is taken into account. The Wessex has some limited parking, apparently, but there is parking available nearby which is free in the evening. I have no experience of the hotel other than a meal a few years ago when my entire family got together. The food was OK, although admittedly that was then and past performance is not a future guarantee.
That weekend is the last when the annual illuminated Enchanted Garden is on at the Abbotsbury Sub-Tropical Gardens and the Friday and Saturday evenings are "Fright Nights", when there are various ghoulish activities and people dress the part. There is plenty of photographic potential, but the lights really need a tripod. Scroll down at the link below for more info.
