Sierra OS X Compatibility - Issues?

Postby Mike Farley » Tue 20 Sep 2016, 12:43

Canon has taken what seems to be an unusual step in announcing compatibility issues with the forthcoming annual update of the Mac OS X operating system, Sierra. Many of its products, hardware and software, appear to be affected and this might be the case for other manufacturers as well. It would be wise to check before undertaking an upgrade. It is also worth noting that Apple's updates do not always go smoothly and there were some issues when El Capitan came out last year, some of which did not get resolved until there had been a few bug fix iterations. Personally, I am still on Yosemite and only now thinking about upgrading to El Capitan. There is no sense in taking the risk of being an early adopter, especially as Yosemite has been working well for me and I did not need the new features.
