Something I've posted on twitter, facebook and the work forums and wanted to get your views too. I've looked at the feedback and online voting for all the images I posted in January and based on that the top 5 images are below. If there was another image you preferred in January choose "other" and let me know in a comment. Voting is anonymous although any comment/critique/feedback/requests for a shot are welcome! I've set it up to run for two weeks to give people plenty of time to think.
All January images can be seen here -

Re: January Pic of the Month
Great idea and not an easy choice.
Re: January Pic of the Month
I know it looks a bit like "look at meeee!" self gratification but it helps me see what others think is working and what isn't/needs more practice. What surprises me is the difference in opinion between different groups I've asked this question to!

That's hardly surprising, as it is very subjective and people view images according to different criteria. For example, many non photographers will be attracted by a brightly coloured, over saturated image and will praise it highly. In photography competitions, the same picture will probably not fare very well. Even then opinions will vary. How many times do you see the results of a competition and think that the judge(s) have chosen the best images?

I think you know my feelings on the standard of judging
