Backpacks .... and tripods

I have seen this reference to a xkcd cartoon in a couple of places. While it does not specifically reference bags for photographic gear, it suggests that the quest for the perfect bag is a universal conundrum. I have linked to the post by Mike Johnston at The Online Photographer as he chucks tripods into the mix and there are some relevant and pithy readers' comments.
