It is said that if two photographers go to the same location, they will end up with different images even if they are standing side by side. The theory is that we all interpret scenes in varying ways and usually that holds true. My main concern when shooting alongside others is not that we will replicate our shots but that they will photobomb me and get in the way. Occasionally, very occasionally, images do turn out identically as this story from DPReview demonstrates. The author has certainly done an excellent bit of sleuthing to work out how the coincidence occurred and why neither person was aware of the other at the time.

Wow, that is crazy. The chances of taking the (practically) same image at the exact same moment in time and then posting that online and then being aware of each others image gets beyond the odds of a lottery win.
