For some of the time we were in Yorkshire, my wife and I stayed on a sheep farm and these ewes had been brought into the barn for lambing. It turns out that sheep are not very good posers. They walk away from from the edge of the pen as you approach, put their backsides towards the camera and very often I was having difficulty filling the bottom right hand section of the frame. Mostly it remained frustratingly empty. In fact, I would go so far as to say that these ruminants have no appreciation for aesthetics whatsoever.
This shot is something of a miracle as I managed to get them all looking in the same direction. How did I achieve that? It was simple, really. The farmer walked in and they all turned expectantly (sic) towards him. (Yes, it is a pregnant sheep joke. That is not something you get every day.)
