Re: Proposed Display of Members' Work at Croydon Library
I now have some further information from Croydon Central Library. The display board is divided into 6 parts, each of which are 90 cm in height and 56 cm in width. The display is floor standing which means that we will not be able to use the entire area. If we restrict ourselves to landscape format for the top three boards, we can squeeze two standard 50 x 40 cm images onto each. The lower boards could have one image each, which could be in either landscape or portrait format. Ideally, I would also like to leave space to include a poster to publicise the club.
For this to go ahead, as requested previously I now need to have details of how many images each person wishes to submit, together with the size and orientation of each. It would be helpful if people could post their images on this thread so that I can have an idea of how the display will look. If we have too many images, we will need to have a selection process. Should this prove necessary, we can determine the arrangements at a later stage.
Prints should be conventionally mounted in the same way as for a print competition. Subject to agreement with the library, the prints will be held onto the boards with the velcro backed clips previously utilised for our annual exhbitions at the Fairfield Halls so that nothing has to be attached to the print.
This is the display area which we will be using as it was set up for the New Year Skills promotion earlier this year. The eagle eyed will note that Croydon Camera Club's programme was centrally displayed!

Re: Proposed Display of Members' Work at Croydon Library
ADDENDUM - It is possible that the library will also need some space on the display, which could be a further limiting factor in the number of images we can have. I'll update this thread when I have further information.
If anyone wishes to participate, I ask that you respond with the information I have requested in the previous post. It would help me if you could complete this by the end of next week - Friday, 22 February.
I have sent a PM to everyone who has expressed interest so far, but I do not propose to do this when I update the thread as there is an automated facility on the forum for people to be notified when there is a new post. All you have to do is click where it says "Subscribe topic" at the foot of the page. You will know when this has worked as it will change to "Unsubscribe topic". You will then receive an e-mail whenever there is anything new. Alternatively, you will need to monitor the thread for any updates.

I have one image of Church and Gherkin which is currently unmounted.
It is 175mm x 275mm.
If you need it I will mount it,
Eric

Possible 2 or 3 which you have room for. Mounted approx size 450 x 400. Flexible as printing on A4 paper.

Thanks, guys. Any chance that you can post your proposed images here or e-mail them to me? It is very hard to put a display together if I do not have sight of the images!
Re: Proposed Display of Members' Work at Croydon Library
The image I had in mind is 40x 50 cm, to big for the display panel, so I'm sorry I will not take part.

Nina - your image is well within the size of a display panel, which are each 90 x 56 and will take at least one image in either landscape or portrait orientation.
Re: Proposed Display of Members' Work at Croydon Library
I will have at least two 40x50cm options, possibly more by the end of the week - was thinking about themeing this week's shooting around getting images for this.
