Shot of the Week 2019/15 - Stride
Re: Shot of the Week 2019/15 - Stride
OK, Thanks Mike.
Re: Shot of the Week 2019/15 - Stride
Pair of Neewer Filter wrenches, rubber-coated, arrived today.
While hand holding the extended lens firmly, used a single wrench to easily remove the misaligned filter on my Panasonic fz1000 camera.
No damage on the filter threads that easily screwed back on to the camera lens.
Gave it all a good clean before putting it back.

It is worth pointing out that the filter might not have been misaligned. Sometimes the aluminium material used for the filter ring binds in the fitting on the camera and is a known phenomenon. If you want to avoid it happening again, you could try a filter made with brass which seems to be the only reliable way to prevent it. The sole ones of which I know are made by B+W which are reassuringly expensive. There will be no quality issues. A few years ago I picked up some secondhand from Ffordes at a reasonable price and they currently have something in stock which might be suitable.

Thanks, Iggy. I was away last weekend and had not yet looked at my subscription copy. They did not inform me beforehand and I did not know it was in there. Otherwise, of course, I would have have been telling anyone who would listen all about it on Wednesday.
I entered the shot into an AP competition last year where it did reasonably well. Ironically, this time the magazine printed it more prominently and it even looked initially as though I might have won one of the APOY rounds. Something which has has eluded me so far despite a few near misses.

It would be nice if you could put your lovely image on this post.

It was actually Michael Platts that alerted me on Wednesday at the CCC to your Sark image in AP.
At that time, I assumed that it was in APOY.
