.......... ONE misty morning.
I took my daily exercise wandering around my local woods, cameras in hand, having taken both conventional and infrared models. By the time I got this shot, the sun was just starting to break through the fog. A bit later on, I reached a spot where there were some crepuscular rays visible in the last of the mist. Although this image does not show it, the woods with their autumn colours looked magical in the conditions.
If only the remaining 26 days of Lockdown 2 could prove so conducive to photography ........
PS I am still processing my shots from earlier today and it is likely one will eventually become my Photo of the Week. It could well be this one but there are several others in contention.

Once again, I am not sure where this is going in terms of my Photo-a-Week project, nor whether this is image is representative of my eventual post processing treatment, but it is typical of what I was seeing yesterday morning.

As I previously mentioned, I took both conventional and infrared cameras with me as it is possible to get some interesting effects with the latter when shooting in mist. In this instance, the foggy conditions have a subtle effect but still have a role in preventing the background from becoming too busy.

Hi Mike,
I like your interesting set of trees in the fog and IR.

Thanks, Iggy. I am still working my way through the images and although I knew at the time I was experiencing something special, only now am I fully appreciating just how productive those 90+ minutes were.

Re: On the First Day of Lockdown, the Weather Gods Sent to Me ........
This is the last of the images I intend to post from this shoot. As the sun broke through and the mist lifted, I headed for a section in the woods where sunbeams can occur. There was just sufficient mist left to create the effect as the sun shone through the gaps in the trees. During the summer, this area is quite dark as the canopy is dense but by this stage of autumn the light is again reaching the ground. By 11:30, the show was over but what a display nature had put on.

Very well done Mike, I particularly enjoy the one with the sunbeams, you can feel the atmosphere the picture creates.

Thanks, Frank. That part of the wood is at the bottom of a hill and at this time of the year the sun does not reach it until some time after it has risen. Which makes getting the sunbeams all the more of a lottery if the mist disperses early. I was fortunate on this occasion.
