David's Project 365
Re: David's Project 365
Thanks - I specifically wanted to move away from the low key shots I've done before. Also I'd seen another photographer who seems to heavily sharpen his images which resulted in a striking look, at least on some shots. I decided to combine the two. Stopped just shy of haloing but I think it does add to the impact!

Looks like we have all suffered for this image!

I like to think it's a representation of mankind's eternal struggle to express himself in an uncaring world, how beauty is valued more than intelligence, or empathy. A commentary on the struggle for gingers to be given fair and equal status.
Or a bloke wrapping his face in tape.
I let the viewer decide which version to take

Re: David's Project 365
Two flowers in three days, I don't know what's coming over me
Still, for me the focus is the lighting not really the subject. Lit the background cardboard using the YN560II flash on 1/8th power through a purple gel and then handheld the YN460 on half power above until I got a result I liked.

I firmly believe that it is unnecessary to expect gingers to wrap their faces in tape. A brown paper bag is a much simpler option!

#87 - Street Feet
On the bus to work, on a cold morning, I was looking out the window crossing London Bridge and all you could see was a sea of bowed heads. It struck me that, isolated from the cold on the bus, it looked like a load of people looking for something on the street, as though there was something interesting on the pavement they were trying to find. I decided to therefore dedicate today's shot to stopping at some point and seeing what - if anything - was interesting under my feet.
Just as well I fixed my iPhone though, another day where I forgot a memory card and all I could use was my phone

Re: #87 - Street Feet
I started reading your post and had only partially scrolled down so I didnt see your feet at the bottom of the image. So initially I thought the image needed something more and was pleasantly surprised when I found it did have more
excellent use of your footwear!
