My mother recently died in The Netherlands where I reside. She was widow to my father Derrick Henry de Paula Lopes, who was a grandson of Henry Poles Copestake Harpur. He was President of the Croydon Camera Club in 1915 and had won several exhibitions. To my dismay my sister told me that the plaque that he won in the 1904 exhibition with: 'a child descending a staircase', has been stolen. As a small boy I could remember the plaque and it holds great emotional value to me. I have however found a mention of his name in an article in the Croydon and County Pictorial in April 1904. This was a newspaper which only ran for a few years. It has an article relating to the camera club’s exhibition in April 1904. It states that three people won a bronze plaque. I am hoping that someone can help me with a photo of the plaque. I remember the one of my greatgrandfather being engraved: H.P.C. Harpur.
With regard, M.A. de Paula Lopes

Re: Urgent help needed: exhibition 1904
I have asked the club's archivist to to look into this request. We will do what we can but as this relates to events which occurred more than a 100 years ago, it is uncertain what, if anything, can be found.
