Re: David's Project 365
I like both "The Unseen" and "Cellular". It looks like that I will have to get one of those Lensbaby Sparks for myself. I'll add to that list of strobist gear you recommended. And I thought that I would not be buying much gear this year on the basis of already having everything I need ......
Re: David's Project 365
It's definitely an interesting lens, takes some getting used to and needs decent conditions - fixed 50mm, fixed f5.6 means it needs good light or a high ISO! I'll bring it to the next club night.

Thanks, I'd be interested to see it. It might even make for a quirky, though probably unflattering, portrait.
Re: David's Project 365
Testing it out with flash is something I plan to do, definitely

In the current May edition of Digital SLR photography mag they review the Yongnuo YN560-II strobe and wireless flash trigger, which I believe David owns. Apart from lacking ETTL metering they give it a big thumbs up.

Re: David's Project 365
Thanks, Paul. I did see that the latest edition of the mag was out, but I could not look inside as it was sealed into a bag this month.
Re: David's Project 365
To be honest I have never once needed, or felt I could have remotely benefited from, ETTL. Even this weekend I was shooting a wedding anniversary party and used the flash bounced off the ceiling. Rather than pay several hundred pounds for ETTL I used the immensely complicated method of taking a couple of test shots to make sure they looked nice first
I can definitely recommend them. I'm wondering about doing an "at home" strobist session sometime to introduce people to the kit/setup and a few people have asked to run a session at the club too - wouldn't say I'm quite there yet but once I'm a bit more confident in doing some kind of demo I'd be up for a bigger session

#104 - Wanderlust
I took the Lensbaby out for a walk with a loose theme in the back of my mind based on the work weekly photo challenge... "is cool".
I wasn't sure what I'd find that was cool in Croydon (and in the end I didn't) but I did see this plane and remembered just how much I like to travel.
Wanderlust is cool.

#106 - He Sells Sea Shells
105 is coming. Just need to get it off the memory card I've left at home. However, I do have 106!
Spotted this chap sitting on the banks of the Thames on a little stool. Who is he? What's he doing? Why is he sitting there?

#105 - Gravity Lapse II
Another Gravity Lapse.
Again, no major photoshopping, this is essentially SOOC with some sharpening and tweak to the colour and cloning out of a water droplet that went rogue
Can you guess how I did it?
Strobist - YN460II at the white card backdrop, YN560II camera left just barely out of shot, snooted to illuminate the bottom glass. Both on 1/16th if memory serves.
