When I go to an ad supported photography website, I often see those exhortations which make the assumption that many people interested in the hobby are male and lonely. In other words, pictures of attractive young ladies from foreign climes who are allegedly eager to converse with me and who will, if I am lucky, let me get to know them so that I can send them shed loads of cash. This ad, being different, caught my attention therefore. Not only targeted at males, but wannabee alpha males to boot.

Can there really be a business in this?

This is huge business, particularly for people wanting to build a fledgling photo business - getting likes/faves/views etc. can help snowball into more, real ones that theoretically leads into actual sales.

Problem is, most of these likes come from fake accounts which inevitably get closed down and often remove the likes in the process

It's tempting to think that such schemes are for the slow witted and talentless who deserve what they get if they lose their paid for likes, although I can see how desperation could set in given the number of people wanting to turn pro. The only real winners seem to be those who are sufficiently unscrupulous to prey on the gullible in this manner.
