Street Photography in Hungary

A new privacy law has recently been enacted in Hungary which requires anyone in a photograph who is identifiable to give their consent to it being taken, regardless of whether or not the image is published. That would certainly make life interesting for anyone visiting the country who wants to take pictures of the sights, as well as ruling out most street photography. Apparently the Foreign Office is investigating the implications for British travellers, but the ban could have an adverse effect on the country's tourist industry. Who knows. It strikes me as being one of those daft laws which politicians, of all nationalities on this evidence, come up with from time to time. Well intentioned, but misguided and difficult to enforce.

A bit like the image you had in your 365 project. You point the lens at the subject(s) but angle your body away and use the screen on the back of the camera. They don't know what you're up to and therefore don't cry "Privacy invasion".

That was not my intent. I did not want them to see my camera to avoid disturbing the scene - I was after a candid shot.
