Here We Go Again... One Year In Asia 2014-2015

Work even got in the way between typing the post above and my first new image in what feels like forever

This was from another trip to the National Park where I got an awful lot closer to the monkeys than last time. Which was occasionally a problem because in expecting a distance between us I took the 550d and the 150-600mm lens! Expect more monkeys.

This past weekend we went for a walk around Chinatown. The whole place was lit up with lanterns & lights and the streets packed with people eating out and enjoying the markets. All this in honour of the Mid-Autumn Festival. Spotted this walking around.

Our condo is about 10 minutes walk from the Singapore Straits. Though the ocean is dirty & the beach covered in detritus, the skyline is never empty with thousands upon thousands of container ships stretching across the horizon while they wait for their berth in the busiest port in the world.

She seemed oblivious to it all.

Sadly the limited resolution I can post at doesn't help the image.

I finally had time to go to a location I'd seen from the bus on my commute - this kingfisher would perch on a gantry and hunt for crickets before taking them back to its nest in a stormdrain.
