It looks as though we will have enough people interested for a combined purchase. If people can post their required quantities and colours to this thread, that will give us an idea of how many boards we are likely to order. As we can only order packs of 25 boards, to keep things simple I suggest that requests should be made in multiples of 5, e.g. 5, 10 boards etc. Depending on the final numbers, it might be necessary to ask people to adjust their totals to allow the order to be placed in line with Wessex's requirements.

There is also a matter of logistics. The boards will have to be delivered to one location, which cannot be the church hall, and distributed from there. As each board measures 44" x 32" this implies that those participating will have a means of transporting their boards. The easiest method is to have one person who is willing to receive and store the boards at their house and then bring them to the club for distribution to the other participants. Would you indicate here if you are willing to undertake this role.

I'd like a minimum of 10 boards, happy to get a bit more to make the numbers fit if needed. Happy with the standard off-white that everyone seems to use too.

Though willing to have it delivered to my house we'd have to arrange a "work friendly" delivery (not a problem) but as I don't have a car it'd mean people might need to collect from me rather than a club night (again, not a problem for me!). I'm easy to reach by car/public transport though.

Understand if it's felt a car/central distribution is required though.

5 sheets of off white and 5 sheets of white would do me fine but a few extra would not be a problem.
I am retired and could therefore take the delivery.

Hi Mike
5 off white or white which ever makes the order, and if a colour is being ordered 2-5 what ever helps with the order, if not no problem. (not worried about colour as experimental.)
Thank you

We definitely have enough takers to place an order and at present it looks as though we will be going for one pack of white and two of antique white, i.e. a total of 75 sheets. Some people have expressed an interest, but not stated how much they are likely to need. Could I ask everyone who wants to participate and who has not yet said what quantities they would like to do so by Friday, 23 November. The intention is to distribute the board at either the meeting of 28 November or 5 December, depending on the delivery date arranged with Wessex Pictures.

Antique white is a creamy off white which many favour for colour prints. The proposed order is for WM500 and WM501 mountboard.

At last night's meeting (14 November), a request was made for members to request mountboard via a paper form on club evenings as well as this forum. Having considered this, I have decided that this course of action is not practical for a number of reasons.

  • It is preferable to maintain a single list.
  • The intention is to have the mountboard with members before Xmas, to allow sufficient time for people to prepare their entries for submission into the exhbition. Starting a paper list at this stage would mean that the timescale would have to be extended beyond Xmas.
  • One of the main purposes of the forum is to allow club activities to continue outside of the weekly meetings, so the forum is the best place for requests to be made.
