Trip to Kew Gardens & Camden Town

Postby Mata » Thu 09 Oct 2014, 17:23

Hi

I am planning to spend a day at Kew gardens & Camden Town Market/Canal, possibly in the next two weeks.

Kew gardens have plenty of Green Houses so weather doesn’t really matter. Camden Town also has an indoor market so should have plenty for us to keep busy.

I plan to go during the week as it will be less busy.

If anyone would like to join me please let me know.

One of the greenhouses (Temperate House) is currently closed for renovation but there are the Princess of Wales Conservatory and the Palm House still open. I'm not too sure about the Lily House though. The lake is also worth a visit if the weather permits.

I might be interested in joining Mata. Being a member I can get a guest in for free!

Incidently, this post would have been better on the Outings and Events section.

There was (another*) fire at Camden Market earlier this year, but fortunately it only affected a couple of the lanes and the market remains open. I have tried to find out if the two lanes are still closed, but a quick Google did not reveal any information. Looking at recent reviews on TripAdvisor, it does not seem to have marred recent visitors' enjoyment of the place.

I visited the market last year as part of my 365 project and might be interested in returning, but am busy for the next few days. It's a popular place and gets busy at the weekend, so a mid-week trip is probably best.

* There was an earlier fire in 2008 as well.

Sorry Not fully familiar with the posting board, will know for next time.

I am familiar with Camden Town and was there over the weekend to see someone. Everything was open and busy as usual.

Weekday is ideal, weekend is just too busy.

I think there is enough in Kew Garden to keep us busy for the day.

Next week is very busy for me. A day or two between Monday 20th to Friday 24th would be ok for me.

What do you think?

I can do any day except Wednesday (22nd). And, yes, Kew can keep you busy all day.

Morning

I have a booking for Thursday 23rd. That leaves us with Monday, Tuesday & Friday.

See how Mike's schedule fits in.

How about doing Kew Gardens on the Monday and Camden Town on one of the other days (Tuesday or Friday)?

I should be able to make either the Tuesday or Friday, but I am not in a position to commit to either at the moment. Select the one which suits you best and I'll do my best to get along.

Tuesday at Kew is good for me. I'm not into Street Photograph so I think I'll pass on the Camden Town trip.

Kew Garden on Tuesday 21st it is. I am looking forward to trying out my new lens close up.

We can organise a meeting point closer to the end of the week if that’s ok.

I will do Camden Town on Friday unless someone else wants to join me.
