Interesting tree. It might have been better either if the man and the boat were not there or there was some separation between them and the tree.

and the little tree on the left (if this is the original orientation?) could probably be removed.

Interesting ideas, unfortunately I was unable to move the man as he was some distance away I suspect he was taking shade from the fierce heat too so it might have been rather cruel to ask him to move! Perhaps if I could just have walked 6 inches to the left... In this case I'd have ended up in the lake.

I did start a fairly long explanation of the thought process but I'll save it for an article on what went through my mind when shooting & processing it, to be back to linked later.

I have to say though, the small size limitation on the forum doesn't help - at full scale there is a lot more detail you lose on tiny resolutions

Looks like I have some catching up to do... Since landing here on 1st June this year, 155 days have passed but I've only uploaded 49 images. While I was not worrying too much about one image a day, I was at least hoping to broadly keep pace!

Time to dust off the flash equipment I think, get ready for more narcissism.

Another from the weekend, as yet untitled. I can think of a range of twee, single-word "emotion" titles but they all feel a bit forced. I gave into "Sensual" yesterday but already think it's a bit lame

exif is similar to the other shot from yesterday (1/125th, f10 and iso100) but this time lighting was from two large vertical softboxes either side of the model angled at 45 degrees to the plane of the image and a single strobe against the white background.

Whittling these down to just a few favourites is hard and I don't want to spam more than 3 or 4 in the 365 shots I've got for the year. If you're interested in others they are here - http://davidcandlish.photography/p127621690. Any feedback/critique/comments welcomed.
