Mike Saturday will do me although if the consensus is another day I can still go. Sunday you are right there is always something being repaired and trains go slower. I would not like to go sinday.
Regards Wally

Saturday is my preferred day as well and this is shaping up to be the favourite.
Attendees so far:
Possibles:
Unless there are any objections, as things stand at present I plan to buy four train return tickets for the Saturday as soon as the cheap fares become available, travelling to and from Birmingham at the earliest times £7-50 tickets will allow. Does anyone else wish to join us?

Update.
Cheap train tickets for 21 March are not yet on sale, so I'll keep checking on a daily basis until they are available. If you want to come, you still have time to add your name.
Based on ticket prices for the previous Saturday (14 March), it looks as though the timetable will be:
Meet at East Croydon: 08:15
Depart Euston: 09:43
Arrive Birmingham International: 10:53
Depart Birmingham International: 18:40
Arrive Euston: 19:56
This will give us seven hours at the show, which should allow time to see everything (and make decisions about what to buy ).
If anyone has a railcard which gives them discounted travel, can you let me know so that I can get the reduced fare.
Note that these tickets are non refundable, so once bought they are bought. They are also only valid on the specified service.

I have some good news. Immediately after my previous post, on The Photography Show website I found a Virgin Trains promotion for discounted travel to the NEC which I had not seen previously. This means that the fare will be £5-60 each way, i.e. a total of £11-20 return. The screenshot below shows the details for the previous weekend.

Sorry I am unable to make the Saturday trip. I Have a work related booking and it’s unlikely I will go on my own.
Can I wish everyone a Happy, healthy and uplifting New Year.

I should mention that the reduced train fare is only valid in conjunction with an exhibition ticket, but since it is cheaper to purchase a ticket for the show in advance I will assume that everyone will be doing this. Purchasing the entry ticket in advance should also speed up getting into the show.
