Come on, Rose, don't keep us in suspense. What do you think of your new camera?

LOL... 8-) Delighted so far... but given my broken (left) wrist I can't actually do too much with it at the moment  although I've managed to take a few photos of the cats with my 50mm ;) I have however been spending lots of time going through the menu and setting it up, reading lots of articles and watching videos about the new AF system. Probably the most time I've ever spent doing this with any camera I've ever owned !

Sounds good. Compared to the menu system on Olympus cameras, Canon's is positively straightforward. When I got the E-M10 a few months ago, I only got around 40 shots from the first battery charge as I had spent so long setting the camera up the way I wanted it.

I look forward to seeing some results once your wrist permits. :D

I have just bought a 7D ii from HDEW. They weren't the cheapest but the fact I could pick the camera up in person was a bonus. They took £100 deposit then I paid the rest once I had the camera in my hand. They were good at responding to emails and phone calls and there were at least 3 people in the office when I called. All done on credit card so i have a little more protection. Ordered Monday afternoon, ready Thursday.

Camera was set to UK options, instruction book was English, British power lead. Obviously the acid test will be if it goes wrong but I am encouraged so far.

Congrats on the new camera, Graham. Let us know what ou think of it once you have had a chance to play.

So, another satisfied Hdew customer. Dealer margins on camera gear are not that high and it is a sobering thought that you probably paid less than a shop in the UK could buy it in for stock from the official importer. It makes you wonder what the camera companies are playing at by having such a wide variation of prices in different parts of the world.

As you know, I've since been back to HDEW to buy my 100-400. I had contacted them to find out when they might have some of the MK IIs available as they didn't yet have them on their website. They phoned immediately and reserved one in their first batch for me, and as they had my details from my previous purchase and I said I'd collect they did even take a deposit. I turned up on the day and it was all ready for me. One happy customer. :)
