Mike. Yes I am treating it as a part of a project.

I appreciate that it would not work for others, especially spending the whole day considering the size of the place.

St Dunstan’s, as Paul has also mentioned is special or rather magical. There is so much history, so much wear and tear just waiting to be captured.

Finally made it on Saturday. The day turned out to be just perfect.

The only problem was that it is now closed due to refurbishment and won’t re-open till early April. Maybe take another trip sometime in April.

I didn’t let such small things spoil the day. Shot through, above and even through small holes in the railings. Sometimes it make you more creative by thinking outside the box.

I like the last shot the most but it looks a little soft? Not a low-res issue, more that I can't put my finger exactly on where you focused?

Well done for not being put off!

Yes it is a little soft. Not sure why? Maybe I was trying to get the outline of the opening to frame the shot. I got the shot OK but, as you have noticed a little on the soft side. I haven’t yet gone through all the images to check the sharpness.

Maybe another excuse to go back in April. :D

Or, in this case, outside the fence. ;)

Yes it was definitely the case of been outside the fence. I tried very hard with the onsite workman to have access but to no luck.

I even told him I was here especially for the weekend from Scotland to take some pictures. I don’t think my Scottish accent went down too well. :D :D

Next time wear your kilt. The full Bonnie Prince Charlie should work wonders. ;)

This shot has been taken again as the one above was a little soft on focus.

It seems one of my fingers was resting on the micro focus of the 18/300 lens causing focus problems in the way I was holding the camera when shooting. Interesting how easy it is to get into bad habits without even realising it?

The only problem with the image is the unnecessary distraction with the space on the right side of the entrance. I will go back and reshoot it again.
