I found this overview on Imaging Resource which includes an embedded video from Adobe which goes through some of the new features. Whilst I do not anticipate having much use for some of the added functions, the usability tweaks appear genuinely worthwhile. I also agree that the brush and gradient tools have some value as well, which I should have mentioned.* That said, I still think that Adobe has been parsimonious with the additions, especially compared to the advances made in the earlier releases up to LR4. I suppose that goes with a mature product which has a significant market share; Adobe has most of us sold and no longer needs to pull out all the stops.

* In my defence, I took the list of features from Adobe's press release and the tools were not mentioned there either.
