I was told this evening of a 1 day event that's coming up on the 20th September and about to be advertised in the National press that may well be of interest to some club members. It is at the University of Warwick and will cost £35 for non-RPS members £30 for RPS members with some cheaper options for members of the RPS Digital Imaging Group. It is on the RPS website, but I think it's only really fully publicised on the DIG pages. I hadn't spotted it anyway...
It is a combination of various workshops and lectures: Joe Cornish on Landscape, Steve Caplin on Photo Manipulation and Eddie Ephraums on Art of Photography with workshop sessions by Adobe, Epson and Bowens Studio. It is also possible to book an LRPS assessment there on the same day. It's quite a long day, registration from 8.30am, finishes about 6/6.30pm. I'm told there is some flexibility in the order you can book sessions.
See http://www.rps.org/special-interest-groups/digital-imaging/about/005-digital-imaging-expo-2015 for booking info and more detail (as a downloadable pdf). There's also a video somewhere showing the large lecture rooms that will be used with some background on the lecturers and workshop instructers.
Hope of interest, sadly I'm expected to be elsewhere that day.
Cheers,
Graham (L)

Hi Graham
Just a quick note to point out that this event is actually being held at Warwick University. Further details at this earlier post.

Hi Mike,
Apologies, I missed the earlier post when it was made and didn't spot it when I had a quick look late last night. Shall I delete?
I pointed out Coventry in the title as I've been there a couple of times a few years ago and find it confusing that the 'University of Warwick' is just 3 miles South of Coventry, a bit closer than it is to Warwick. Though the University is only just inside Warwickshire I guess the Warwick name was though to be a better brand than using Coventry when it was set up in the late 60's.
Cheers,
Graham

I would not worry as it bumps the event in case anyone else missed it first time around. It's still my intention to travel up the day before, although I have not yet booked anywhere to stay.

There is now a Coventry University (see link below), although back in the day when the University of Warwick was being set up it was probably a polytechnic. Either someone had foresight or, as you say, Warwick sounded better.
