2015 Bulk Mountboard Purchase

Hi Mike,
I will need at least a couple of sheets of the antique white and the nuboard for the Monochrome Competition for myself and perhaps another that I am trying to help out to get into the competitions. My first efforts at cutting might not be perfect needing the extra board. So I might as well have the textured Antique and the pale Ivory.
You haven't charged me for the two large A0 plastic bags that I ordered. I will pay in full in cash on the Wednesday.

The mountboard was delivered earlier today and will be at the club tomorrow evening. As previously advised, we are missing 33 sheets of Antique White as well as Graham's Ingres Sand board which I am hoping will be available on 23 September. The club is taking 10 sheets to hold in reserve so there is no urgent need, I can wait for mine and as Tonia has not indicated to the contrary, delaying these requests until the second delivery means that everyone else can have their orders now.

Mike and Tom brought in the mountboard and nuboard to the CCC last night. Thanks for that.
Tables in the foyer had already been set up.
Eager to try my A1 cutting mat and a Silverline broad 1.2m aluminium ruler with a stout handle in the middle, I launched into cutting my 7 mountboard in half with a utility knife. Quite easy really especially as my fingers were safe on the handle of the ruler, while the large A1 mat also helped!

Tom showed us how to be frugal with the nubord which allowed 5 usable pieces to be obtained instead of 4. Nubord is much harder to cut and had to cut it into two unequal long pieces for easy transport in the car.

Attended the first half of the South Africa lecture but spent the second half cutting board for Jackson and David, with their assistance.

Spent an hour this morning cutting all the board to smaller pieces so that everything can now be laid flat.

I will play with my new Logan 350-1 Compact elite cutter on Monday. Hopefully that will go smoothly.
Awaiting delivery of images from ProAm tomorrow.

I am quite happy to bring the Logan cutter in to the CCC, a week prior to future print competitions, for other CCC members to use. Let me know if you would like to use it.

A small tip for anyone who is cutting mounboard for the first time. It is better to mark out measurements on the back rather than the front to prevent as otherwise it might leave a small residue of pencil along the edge where the board is trimmed.

Thanks for the tip about marking the back of the mountboard, which was helpful to me today.

Used my new Logan 350-1 and it was so easy to cut the boards after watching a YouTube video a couple of times.
Much better than reading the instruction booklet.

Even cut the norboard to size with it, although that needed a couple of run throughs for a clean cut right through.
Luckily, I did purchase a 100 blades. Plenty of spares if anyone runs out.

Now where did I put that masking tape??!!

Great stuff, never tried my Logan on Nuboard, must be one of the hardest materials to cut.

Here is another tip.

My son had a suit delivered today and it came with a free zip up suit carry cover.
Thinking outside the box, the suit carry cover is the ideal size for the cut mountboard and nubord (40 x 50cm).
So I am having that and can now store the mountboard dust free.
Nubord will have to wait until another suit is bought.

Cutting the nubord with a Logan 350-1 was no great effort but then I was using a new blade!

Rather pleased with how the mounting went for a first time effort.
Picture quality is another matter for the judge to decide!
