Hi folks,
Today the results of the Royal Photographic Society's Documentary Photographer of the Year was announced. There are two categories in this competition; 'enthusiasts' and 'experts' and I'm delighted to report back that fellow club member Bill Yates was awarded second place in the 'enthusiasts' category of this prestigious competition! All the images can be seen on the competition website http://www.dpoty.com/
Bill's panel five images taken from a set of photographs that he took at a protest against the Psychoactive Substances Bill held in Parliament square on the 1st August where there was a simultaneous inhalation of nitrous oxide. Bill's panel and those of the other top three finalists can be seen over the next two days at the Rag Factory, 16-18 Heneage Street, London E1 5LJ from 10am to 5pm. There is also one image from each of the other competitors on display (where you can see one of mine). The overall winner was Mark Philips ARPS, who also came first in the 'expert' category and received an OM-D EM-10 camera courtesy of Olympus.
Congratulations to Bill.

Congratulations to you both! Unfortunately I can't see any images at DPOTY.com, just adverts for the competition.
Can you share any on the forum?

You can see everyone's enries by following the links in the sub-heading. Look for "Enthusiasts 2015" and "Experts 2015". The website has not yet been updated with the result of the competition.

I should also add that all entrants to the competition had the opportunity to elect one of their five images to go on display as a print in the exhibition that finished today. Hence one of mine being on show.
Only those awarded a top three position, such as Bill, had their whole panel on display in print format.
Cheers,
Graham
