I have been looking for a box to store my prints in. And I know I'm not the only one. Wally gave me a clue to where to look - try this web-site:

Nomad have the boxes I'm looking for at various depths and at reasonable prices.

Re: PRINT STORAGE
Nomad are the only company I am aware of which makes suitable boxes for holding prints and most photographers have at least one or two of their products as they will accommodate standard 40 x 50 mounted prints. The most popular sizes are either 4" or 6", the former being easier to carry when filled with prints and the latter maximising storage capacity. Just bear in mind that it will be heavy and you will not want to carry it far. The handles are extra, but are definitely a useful option.
These are the boxes which will be of most interest - http://www.nomadcases.co.uk/our-product ... int-boxes/. I have always opted for the HD version with the two straps.
The main downside is the high carriage charge, which can add around 50% to the cost of a single box. Nomad regularly exhibits at The Photography Show at the NEC and I have bought my last few boxes there, buying them just before leaving to avoid having to carry them around all day. Some years ago I organised a bulk purchase at the club to share the carriage costs, although there is no discount for multiple purchases.

I'm considering buying two 4inch boxes; as the p&p (£14 incl VAT) is the same for 1 to 5 (numbers I have tried but it could be the same for larger orders) it might be an idea to get a number of members together and share the cost. Anyone interested?

Re: PRINT STORAGE
Hi David,
I'm interested in including in your order one 4" HD Print Box (£24) and one 6" HD Print Box (£25), both with webbing straps (£3 each). As you note the carriage charge seems to stay at £12 regardless of quantity (I went up to 36 boxes), so I guess to that extent a discount is built in. Might be worth a phone call to see if bulk orders can be considered for an additional discount if anybody else joins in?
I'm currently using a 40cm wide oblong plastic storage box from Clas Ohlson (I think Rymans do something similar). It is light and comes with little wheels for trundling across the floor but the lid is no good transport-wise and the box is quite a bit longer than needs be.

Re: PRINT STORAGE
Hi Graham
I seem to be getting conflicting information; I have two websites with differing info. I've queried with Nomad if they offer quantity discounts. The prices INCLUDE VAT (including P&P).
We can discuss this on Wednesday where Iggy and Artur may also be interested.

Hi David,
I won't be at the event tomorrow night, but should be at the evening meal on Wednesday. Happy to discuss further then.
Cheers,
Graham
