No worries, Rose, the more the merrier. I am purchasing all the tickets for travel between Euston and Birmingham only, so everyone will be responsible for their travel to and from Euston. The railcards do not make any difference as the booking website only allows for discounted travel to the NEC and there is no facility to add railcards unfortunately. I cannot get seats which are together If I try to make separate bookings, but the difference in cost is small.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for agreeing to arrange this trip again and please count me in. Who knows, I might even spend some money this year after last year's "rest". :D

Those going so far are:

  • Davidb
  • Rose + two guests
  • Wally
  • Graham C (train ticket one way to Birmingham only)
  • David N
  • Myself
  • Peter Boughton (possible)

Anyone else? I expect to be able to book tickets sometime after Xmas or early in the new year when the discounted fares become available.

A reminder that I am hoping to get tickets for the 9:43 service from Euston and return on the 18:40. The return fare should be £11-20 if I can obtain the cheapest tickets. Those going will be reponsible for making their own travel arrangements to and from Euston as it is not possible to make a block booking when there are multiple starting points.

Will do, Tom.

It's always a good time to spend money so long as it going on something worthwhile such as camera gear. :P

Wally will not now be able to join us, so the current list of those going looks like this:

  • Davidb
  • Rose + two guests
  • Graham C (train ticket one way to Birmingham only)
  • David N
  • Myself
  • Tom
  • Peter Boughton (possible)

One in, one out. :D

I'll go ahead and put myself as a definite - still not 100% sure, but then not sure I can be and for the difference of ~£11 vs £51 it's worth the gamble...

Thanks, Peter. In the past it has not been necessary to name those travelling when making a block booking, so if that applies this time it should be possible for you to offer the tickets to someone else if you find you cannot go.

It looks to me as if train tickets are now available
