Hi David,
In your image, was the aeroplane a Photoshop add on?
A few years ago, I recall seeing a plane on a full moon where the photographer claimed that he took it unknowingly and only found it later when examining all his shots. I just Google checked and now there dozens of similar images!

That reminds me of the "Red Bus" case from a few years ago, when a plaintiff claiming rights to a particular subject and method of depiction successfully sued for breach of copyright when the defendant used a similar photo commercially. For a few weeks afterwards, the letters pages in Amateur Photographer had people writing in saying that they had produced the same type of shot long before the plaintiff.

Not an add on but tweaked.

As you can probably tell the image is a tonemapped HDR composite - that's why I went to that spot, I thought the building would make a good HDR monochrome image. It's only after missing one plane I waited for another. So in the end I had three frames all with planes in so I chose the best one after the HDR merge.

Hello David,
Thank you for the detail of your image, which is helpful to aspiring photographers such as I who haven't tried HDR yet.
It is an amazing image!
When you are next in the UK, you must come over to a club meeting. I assume that you were a regular CCC member at one time.
Best wishes,
Iggy

Funny you should bring that up...

As of this morning my wife & I have officially communicated we're leaving Singapore and coming home. Many reasons for and against but the biggest reason for coming back is we're expecting, due in July :)

Current plans, subject to change/refinement, is that we'll be returning to our house in Croydon. So you might well catch me back at the club later this year :)

Hi David

That's great news, really more deserving of its own thread. :D

Congratulations to you and your wife.

Looking forward to seeing you again.

Gosh, two momentous announcements in the space of a few hours. Sorry to see you go, Rose, but wish you both well for the future. Which part of Somerset are you headed for?
