Samsung NX1 Discontinued in Europe?

Amateur Photographer has a piece about Samsung following the company's failure to have any photographic equipment on its stand at the CES exhibition at Las Vegas. Other than that fridge, of course.

The company is being very tight lipped about its plans, apart from denying stories about an asset sale to Nikon*. It has withdrawn from various European countries and the non show at CES suggests that it is following suit in North America as well. That leaves Asia as the main potential market, but is there really sufficient demand for one region to support the camera division?

It seems that Samsung has ceased camera manufacture entirely according to this report from Amateur Photographer.

The Samsung Camera division has not quite reached the status of the "Norwegian Blue" parrot and a firmware update for the NX1 and NX500 models has just been released. Given that the NX1 is discontinued and the NX500 is clinging onto its perch (if not actually nailed to it), it remains to be seen for how long support will continue.
