Amateur Photographer has a piece about Samsung following the company's failure to have any photographic equipment on its stand at the CES exhibition at Las Vegas. Other than that fridge, of course.
The company is being very tight lipped about its plans, apart from denying stories about an asset sale to Nikon*. It has withdrawn from various European countries and the non show at CES suggests that it is following suit in North America as well. That leaves Asia as the main potential market, but is there really sufficient demand for one region to support the camera division?
http://www.amateurphotographer.co.uk/la ... -ces-67790* Nikon's announcement of the D5 and D500 cameras, together with the recent launches of new lenses, suggests that other than its 1 series range it will not be expanding further into CSCs any time soon.
