We would not expect to see colour and mono versions of an image in the same season. The intention is to reduce the amount of repetition, which has two main benefits:

• The incentive to produce a greater variety of images is an encouragement for entrants to enhance their skills.
• Competitions become more interesting for everyone when the same images are not being seen constantly.
