The return trip is, I presume, on Wednesday. What has been arranged for the club meeting for 1st October?

We will probably be setting out during the middle of the day, which will allow people time to go home in time to refresh themselves and get along to the club later. Or we could time the journey back to go directly to the club* if that is what people prefer - it's something which can be discussed at the time. There might be somewhere people want to shoot before returning or poor weather might make the decision for us, for example.

I will make arrangements for someone to deputise for me at the meeting just in case there are any hold ups on the journey back.

* The furthest I have travelled to get to a meeting is from Edinburgh, on one memorable occasion taking off from the airport at 5:30 pm** and getting to the club just as the meeting started. Modern transport links are very effective when they work well and distance is not a barrier to doing other things in the course of a day.

** That had not been the plan, but back then the late afternoon BA flight from Edinburgh to Gatwick was not the most reliable. It was a journey I made regularly and the surprise was not when it was delayed, so unusual was it for the plane to be on time. In fairness to BA, things might be different today, although it was not something which it managed to resolve during the few years I was flying with them.
