- I know that at least one member of the club has acquired this lens. No doubt they will be interested and/or relieved to learn that it is well put together. It is less likely to need adjustment than its bigger f/2.8 brother and easier to tweak if it does.
If anyone wants to know how the lens performs optically, the same author has conducted a comparison test with Canon's other current full frame wide-angle zooms.

Based on this and Roger Cicala's other teardowns of Canon's more recently introduced lenses, it seems that over the last year or two the company has made worthwhile improvements to the internal construction quality of its top end optics.
