The first round of this season's SLF monochrome competition in which our club is due to compete should have taken place on 27 October at South London Photographic Society. All the participating clubs and their images were there, lacking only the judge who had the wrong date.
The SLF competitions are scheduled months in advance as part of the host clubs' programmes, so the competition not taking place presents the SLF with a severe logistical problem. To help out, our club has offered to host the competition on 5 November, which is when we are currently planning to hold our first Members' Evening and mobile phone image contest. This does require a bit of organisation, mainly in finding another judge at short notice if the original person cannot make it on the new date.
I have posted this to give members notice of a possible change to our programme and will post a further update once everything has been confirmed. The fallback position is that the SLF will request the judge to score the images at home and advise them of the result. That is not ideal, but if it turns out to be the only option our meeting on 5 November will go ahead as originally planned.

Blimey, egg on the judge's face! Who was supposed to be judging?

I'd rather not say, especially as the person concerned might still be assessing our images next week. It would be straightforward to do a Google search if you are interested.
