I have just returned from a few days in Scotland where I was on a photography course. Ostensibly it was about using Leica gear, but I mainly used it as an opportunity to have a refresher on my photography skills. I was in Wester Ross, a beautiful area which is well worth a return visit, but maybe not quite at this time of year. It is nearing the end of the season for midges, which took full advantage of the opportunity provided by an unsuspecting group of sassenachs*. The course was definitely worthwhile and now I have Internet access** again I will describe some of my experiences and thoughts over the next few days.
Here is a link to the course which I attended if anyone is interested.

* A Scotsman once told me that this term actually means anyone who lives to the south of you. As in "Och, laddie, ye should never have left the glen".
** The hotel where we were staying ostensibly had Internet access, but along with other participants I struggled to make it work apart from one brief period of around 30 minutes. That was probably no bad thing as it could have been a distraction from what I was really there for.
