This year's Photokina has been remarkable for not one, but three "in development" announcements from Fuji, Olympus and Panasonic respectively. I recall from a few years ago the Pentax 645 digital medium format concept, which was a mockup made from wood and appeared at consecutive shows until there was a real camera. Nikon has also done something similar in pre-announcing the just launched Keymission 360 a while back. I suspect the idea is to prevent customers venturing elsewhere before a product is ready and might become a new trend when camera markets are in decline.
