The Strid

An amazing place on the River Wharfe where the water is restricted to a narrow gap between the banks. It makes for some fast flows and interesting eddies. Supposedly it is said to be possible to jump across the banks, although anyone attempting such a feat would be very foolish. The sides are slippery with a small chance of survival for someone who fell in the water.
